Excuse the delay, we’re in Miami for Billboard Latin Week.
But don’t fear, we’ve still got 10 new tracks from the best in emerging R&B and hip-hop for your listening pleasure. From Amaarae’s afro-pop vibes to an imaginative recreation of T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung” melodies from Tion Wayne, we’ve got everything you need for whatever the week brings.
Don’t forget to share the wealth with our Spotify playlist, linked below.
No1-Noah, “Bounce”
New York artist No1-Noah drops the first single “Bounce” off his upcoming project. The sexually charged song comes with an accompanying video, which follows the singer at a kickback and a convenience store turning up with his friends. No1-Noah is the first signee under Summer Walker’s Ghetto Earth Records imprint.
Reggie Becton, “RM. 143”
The third’s time is the charm for Reggie Becton. The DMV singer released the third single off of his forthcoming album, called “RM. 143.” Channeling ’90s R&B for the music video — which marks his directorial debut — Becton takes inspiration from Jodeci’s “Cry For You” by singing his heart out in the desert. This past Saturday, he performed the single for the first time live at Soulection’s The Sounds of Tomorrow concert.
Zombie Juice feat. Smoke DZA, “VMA’s”
Zombie Juice’s (Flatbush Zombies) iced-out grill is on full display in the video for his Smoke DZA-assisted single, “VMA’s.” The two rap calmly about getting high — and while the title is is a little misleading, the video and song get their point across loud and clear.
Tion Wayne feat. Davido, “Who’s True”
London rapper Tion Wayne taps global star Davido for “Who’s True.” Produced by Jae5, the song interpolates T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung” and appears on Tion Wayne’s new album, Green With Envy.
Coi Leray, “Twinnem”
On Coi Leray’s upbeat new single and video called “Twinnem,” she stresses the importance of keeping one’s circle tight. “Go best friend, we killing them/ No new friends, get rid of them,” she rap-sings.
Amaarae feat. Kali Uchis, “Sad Girlz Luv Money” (Remix)
On today’s episode of Collaborations We Didn’t Think to Ask For But Absolutely Needed, we have afro-pop sensation Amaarae and Colombian chart-topper, Kali Uchis. The pair’s silky smooth voices melt together into a pool of ethereal harmonies, overtop futuristic Afrobeats production. Uchis’s Spanglish flavor compliments Amaarae’s unforgettable tone, breathing new life into the 2020 deep cut.
Kitty Ca$h feat. Kiana Ledé, Just Fine
“Just Fine” is a song of firsts: It’s the first time Kiana Ledé, whose maternal grandfather is Mexican, sings in Spanish, while for DJ and producer Kitty Ca$h, it’s the first of (hopefully) many singles. The track is much better than just fine — it’s a sensual, feel-good track, the kind that can only happen when two mega-talented women come together.
Reyanna Maria, “what’s ur sign”
Reyanna Maria and TikTok are a match made in heaven. The Filipino-Australian artist’s breakout single “So Pretty” achieved virality on the addictive video app, and “what’s ur sign” is next in line. Featuring to-the-point and quotable lines (“You’re amazing/ I’m amazing/ Let’s make babies”), the track is catchy and confident, setting the laid-back singer up for an equally lovable follow-up release.
iann dior ft. Lil Uzi Vert, “V12″
“Don’t forget who did this s–t first,” raps Lil Uzi Vert, as he teams up with rising star iann dior on his latest single, “V12.” The eccentric duo coast over the active beat, driven by nostalgic -eeling keys and hard-hitting 808s. Dior’s sing-song chorus is confident and infectious, a good sign for the up-and-comer.
Jermtown, “west adams”
Michigan native Jermtown is back with an edgy, late-night single, “west adams.” The blunt rapper holds nothing back in his rhymes (“How many n—as hatin’ on me, I cannot keep track/ If you got a problem with me, you can tell that to my sack”), keeping up with the track’s equally menacing instrumental.
